Acwa Operations, formerly NOMAC, is the operations and maintenance arm of Acwa, dedicated to ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of power generation and water desalination assets. The company supports essential services for millions across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. This role is for the Bisha Solar PV Project, a significant renewable energy initiative in Bishah, 'Asir Province, Saudi Arabia. This project involves the development of a 3,000 MW solar PV plant, operating under an IPP model with a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with SPPC. Financial close was achieved in October 2025, with completion scheduled for December 2027.
Role Summary
The Site in Charge Electrical Engineer Solar PV will supervise and manage all electrical maintenance activities at the plant. This includes preventive and corrective maintenance, planned outages, and overhauling work for electrical equipment. The role ensures adherence to overall maintenance plans, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to maintain plant availability and equipment reliability. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise team activities to ensure targets, objectives, and business plans are met in line with policies and procedures.
Monitor electrical preventive, corrective, and overhauling maintenance to ensure equipment continuity and reliability.
Manage emergency breakdowns and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure plant availability.
Promote condition-based preventive maintenance through troubleshooting and root cause analysis to reduce reactive maintenance.
Troubleshoot critical electrical equipment problems, diagnose faults, and determine appropriate repairs in compliance with quality and HSE standards.
Analyze electrical equipment maintenance data and conduct site engineering studies to assess modification feasibility for improved reliability and efficiency.
Prepare feasibility studies for new installations, replacements, or repairs of electrical equipment, including technical evaluations, specifications, and cost estimates.
Forecast manpower and material requirements for electrical maintenance plans and coordinate annual outage maintenance for critical electrical equipment.
Ensure all electrical maintenance documentation is accurately completed in SAP, including maintenance logs, fault details, repair methods, and resource usage.
Ensure strict adherence to HSSE and permit-to-work systems, instructions, and procedures.
Lead the preparation of monthly and annual requirements for electrical equipment, spare parts, and general materials.
Conduct technical evaluations with the procurement department to recommend appropriate materials and equipment.
Develop and maintain business relationships with internal departments and external contractors, addressing technical issues promptly.
Liaise with EPC/OEM contractors for technical clarification and guidance.
Supervise SAP processes within the Electrical maintenance section, adhering to guidelines for planning, scheduling, and data management.
Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives and programs.
Develop and ensure implementation of Operation's department work instructions, policies, and procedures.

Internal and External Relationships
The role requires close collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, Electrical Section Heads, Electrical Supervisors, Technicians, and the Operations Team. Externally, the Site in Charge Electrical Engineer will build relationships with relevant contractors, vendors, the Project Company, Local Authorities, External Auditors, and Shareholders.
