QC HVAC Inspector

About the Role

Applus+ is seeking a QC HVAC Inspector for a contract position in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of HVAC systems within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and industrial facilities. The inspector will be responsible for verifying proper installation, performance, and adherence to project specifications and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect HVAC installations, including ducting, piping, chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and ventilation systems.
• Verify installation methods, materials used, insulation, and support structures.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, procedures, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Monitor testing and balancing activities for HVAC systems.
• Ensure adherence to mechanical and fire safety standards.
• Review HVAC shop drawings and specifications.
• Identify non-conformities and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and maintain all Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) documentation.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors, QA/QC teams, and client representatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A * Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant inspection experience, OR an Industrial/Technical Diploma with a minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of industry standards such as SMACNA, Uniform Mechanical Code, NFPA 90A, and ASHRAE Handbooks or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical installations and hazardous location identification in industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of quality system standards and inspection methods.
• A valid driving license is mandatory for this position.

Work Environment

This role is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a contract basis. The inspector will work within industrial facilities, collaborating with various teams to ensure the highest quality standards for HVAC systems.
