The role involves leading and executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) substation equipment up to 6.6kV, ensuring all electrical systems are energized safely and operate according to project specifications.

Electrical Substation Commissioning Engineer

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Commissioning Engineer to lead and execute the pre-commissioning and commissioning of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) substation equipment (up to 6.6kV). The successful candidate will ensure all electrical systems are energized safely and operate according to project specifications and Sonatrach standards.

Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute testing and commissioning activities for LV and MV switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), and distribution boards up to 6.6kV.
Perform Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and functional checks on electrical substation equipment.
Manage safe energization procedures and strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Troubleshoot electrical issues during the commissioning phase and implement corrective actions.
Prepare and review commissioning procedures, method statements, and final handover documentation.
Direct and guide commissioning technicians in day-to-day site activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
Proven experience in commissioning LV and MV (up to 6.6kV) electrical substations, preferably within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical sector
Strong knowledge of electrical testing equipment and safe work practices
Familiarity with Sonatrach site standards and safety protocols
