Responsibilities

· Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for dairy farm equipment and machinery.

· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical equipment failures.

· Maintain equipment used in animal production and calf/infancy units, including feeding and handling equipment.

· Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.

· Ensure maintenance activities are performed according to manufacturers' recommendations, SOPs, and company standards.

· Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring failures and their root causes.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, spare parts, equipment history, and downtime.

· Coordinate with production and animal-production teams to schedule maintenance activities while minimizing operational disruption.

· Participate in the installation, commissioning, testing, and modification of new equipment.

· Manage and follow up on spare parts and maintenance materials requirements.

· Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when specialized maintenance or technical support is required.

· Ensure proper use of maintenance tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.

· Support the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

· Analyze breakdown and downtime data and recommend actions to improve equipment reliability.

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and animal-welfare requirements during maintenance activities.

· Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance technicians and workers.

. Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing maintenance costs and equipment downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably within a dairy farm, food production, agricultural, or industrial environment.
• Practical experience with mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
• Good understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Good troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
• Good knowledge of preventive maintenance principles.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a farm environment and respond to equipment breakdowns when required.
• Good command of English, particularly technical terminology.
