Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Engineer to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing project profitability by managing commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary and quality standards while developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough cost analysis and pricing strategies for construction projects.
• Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitive pricing.
• Manage commercial contracts and negotiations with clients and suppliers.
• Monitor project financials and provide regular reports on profitability and cost savings.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and process improvements.
• Participate in project meetings to provide expertise on commercial matters.
• Support risk management activities by identifying and mitigating potential financial risks.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of claims and variations to contracts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, laws, and regulations.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in managing relationships with clients and subcontractors.
