We are looking for a talented and creative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in SolidWorks, mechanical mechanisms, machine design, and automation.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently developing mechanical solutions, from initial concepts and feasibility analysis to detailed design, prototyping, and manufacturing.

This position requires strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical, functional designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and automated mechanisms using SolidWorks.

• Develop creative and practical mechanical solutions for custom machinery, robotic systems, and automation applications.

• Design motion mechanisms involving gears, belts, pulleys, bearings, shafts, linear guides, actuators, and other mechanical components.

• Select and integrate motors, gearboxes, actuators, sensors, and other electromechanical components into mechanical designs.

• Perform engineering calculations, including torque, force, speed, power, mechanical loads, and safety factors.

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).

• Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, and other manufacturing processes.

• Evaluate mechanical designs for manufacturability, reliability, cost, maintenance, and ease of assembly.

• Develop and improve mechanical prototypes based on testing results and engineering analysis.

• Collaborate with electrical, embedded systems, software, and automation engineers.

• Research and evaluate commercially available mechanical components and propose suitable alternatives.

• Identify potential mechanical failures, design limitations, and opportunities for improvement.

• Document mechanical designs, engineering calculations, and technical decisions.
  

Working Arrangement

• Employment Type: Part-Time

• Location: Egypt (Remote)

• Working Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, machine design, industrial automation, or mechanical product development.

• Demonstrated experience designing functional mechanical systems and mechanisms.

• Experience developing mechanical designs from concept through detailed engineering and manufacturing.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, complex assemblies, configurations, and manufacturing drawings.

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, machine elements, and mechanical mechanisms.

• Experience designing systems involving motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, gears, belts, pulleys, and linear motion components.

• Ability to perform mechanical engineering calculations involving forces, torque, speed, power, loads, and tolerances.

• Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA).

• Experience preparing detailed engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.

• Familiarity with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing.

• Ability to select appropriate mechanical components based on technical requirements.

• Experience with mechanical prototyping, troubleshooting, and design optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing custom automated machinery, robotic mechanisms, or industrial automation equipment.

• Experience with electromechanical systems, including servo motors, stepper motors, and actuators.

• Experience designing robotic end effectors, grippers, dispensing systems, or positioning mechanisms.

• Familiarity with SolidWorks Motion Analysis and Simulation.

• Experience designing food and beverage equipment or other commercial machinery.

• Understanding of mechanical safety, reliability, and maintenance requirements.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
