Position: Junior Project Engineer – Construction & Fit-Out

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Junior Project Engineer to join our team in Cairo. The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of construction and fit-out projects, working closely with the project management team, site supervisors, subcontractors, and procurement department.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to understand project requirements and identify discrepancies.

• Monitor daily site activities and ensure execution follows approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the procurement team.

• Prepare daily progress reports, site measurements, material requests, and work completion records.

• Assist with quantity takeoffs, BOQs, material comparisons, and cost tracking.

• Follow up on material deliveries, procurement status, and site requirements to prevent delays.

• Monitor project schedules and report progress, delays, technical issues, and required corrective actions.

• Inspect completed works and coordinate snagging and rectification activities.

• Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, inspection records, and progress updates.

• Support the Project Manager in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires regular site presence, practical problem-solving, attention to detail, and proactive communication.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognized university.

• 0–3 years of relevant experience in construction, general contracting, or interior fit-out projects.

• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.

• Basic understanding of quantity surveying, BOQs, material specifications, and construction methods.

• Good understanding of finishing works, including plastering, painting, flooring, ceilings, joinery, and related trades.

• Ability to coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, accountability, and attention to detail.

• Willingness to work on-site and travel between project locations in Cairo and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous exposure to residential, commercial, retail, or hospitality fit-out projects.

• Familiarity with MEP coordination and construction sequencing.

• Experience preparing daily site reports and material requests.
