Senior Mechanical Tendering Engineer / Mechanical Tendering Team Leader

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Tendering Engineer / Mechanical Tendering Team Leader to join our team and handle the preparation, estimation, and technical evaluation of mechanical tenders for major MEP projects.

The ideal candidate should have solid experience in MEP contracting companies, with strong knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to independently manage tender studies, cost estimation, supplier quotations, and technical/commercial evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

• Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work.
• Prepare accurate mechanical quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Prepare and review BOQs for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting works.
• Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review and compare suppliers' and subcontractors' quotations technically and commercially.
• Evaluate materials, equipment, and systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, and technical conflicts in tender documents and prepare RFIs when required.
• Prepare detailed direct and indirect cost estimates.
• Coordinate with Procurement, QS, Commercial, Planning, and Technical Office teams during the tendering process.
• Develop competitive pricing based on project requirements, conditions, risks, and available quotations.
• Review technical and commercial requirements for Lump Sum, Design & Build, and other contract types.
• Participate in Value Engineering (VE) and cost optimization exercises.
• Support BAFO and final tender negotiations when required.
• Ensure tender studies are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
• Maintain and update databases for suppliers, subcontractors, quotations, and historical project costs.
• For the Team Leader level: coordinate and review the work of Mechanical Tendering Engineers and distribute tender assignments according to deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Tendering / Estimation.
• Previous experience in MEP or construction contracting companies is required.
• Strong practical experience in:
• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Fire Fighting
• Strong knowledge of tendering, estimation, BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, and cost analysis.
• Experience in reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Ability to analyze tender documents, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Good understanding of MEP materials, equipment, and installation requirements.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under tight tender submission deadlines.
• Experience with Saudi/GCC projects is preferred.
• Experience in leading or coordinating a tendering team is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
