The Opportunity

The Salesforce QA Test Engineer provides independent, practical assurance across Appficiency customer delivery. The role turns requirements and acceptance criteria into clear, repeatable tests; verifies Salesforce configuration, development, data and integrations; and gives delivery teams reliable evidence to make release decisions. The engineer works across projects as part of the shared delivery capability, partnering closely with consultants, developers, project leads and customers. The engineer owns the quality of test design, execution, defect evidence and QA recommendations. They advise whether agreed test exit criteria have been met and escalate material quality risks to the project lead.

What You'll Do

• Create and maintain test approaches, scenarios, cases, data, traceability and evidence for functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Perform hands-on testing of Salesforce configuration and custom features, including relevant permissions, roles, sharing, automation and user journeys.
• Validate data loads, migrations and interfaces, checking completeness, accuracy, mapping, error handling and reconciliation with agreed expectations.
• Record, prioritise and retest defects; provide clear reproduction steps, evidence, impact and ownership, and support timely triage through resolution.
• Support customer UAT by preparing scenarios and environments, explaining outcomes, managing feedback and keeping business acceptance distinct from QA sign-off.
• Work with delivery teams to keep quality gates, test status, risks and release evidence visible; raise concerns promptly and exercise independent judgement.
• Contribute reusable test assets, practical standards and lessons learned to improve consistency, reduce avoidable rework and support the shared delivery model.

What You'll Bring

• Practical experience testing Salesforce solutions in a consulting, implementation or internal delivery environment.
• Strong test design and execution skills, including turning business requirements into positive, negative, boundary and end-to-end scenarios.
• Confident defect management: clear written evidence, severity and impact assessment, retesting and constructive collaboration with developers.
• Experience testing data and integrations, with a careful approach to reconciliation, permissions and user access.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues, plus the confidence to challenge unclear requirements or release readiness when evidence is incomplete.
• Organised and adaptable: able to plan testing across more than one workstream, manage dependencies and keep accurate records.

What Will Set You Apart

• Salesforce Administrator or Platform App Builder certification, or equivalent demonstrated platform knowledge.
• Experience with Salesforce sandboxes, deployment pipelines, release controls and tools such as DevOps.

• Defects are reproducible, prioritised and resolved with limited avoidable retesting; escaped defects and rework are understood and acted on.
• QA status, evidence and release recommendations are accurate, timely and useful to delivery leads and customers.
• Regression and reusable assets improve consistency and reduce repeated manual effort across projects.
• The engineer works effectively across the shared project portfolio while maintaining the independence and credibility of QA.
