Role Description The Embedded System Engineer role at Aydn Labs is a contract position based in Cairo, Egypt with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, implementing, and testing embedded software for microcontrollers and embedded platforms, as well as integrating software with electronic hardware components. The role involves debugging and optimizing firmware, collaborating with electrical and electronics engineers on board-level design decisions, and supporting IoT connectivity and device integration. The engineer will document designs, participate in code reviews, ensure compliance with performance and safety requirements, and assist in deploying and maintaining embedded solutions in production environments.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with embedded software development, including firmware design, microcontroller programming, and real-time systems.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and electronics, with the ability to collaborate closely on PCB design, hardware integration, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) concepts, protocols, and architectures, including device connectivity, security considerations, and cloud or edge integration.
• Strong software development skills, preferably in C/C++ and related toolchains, version control systems, and debugging tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems, propose solutions, and work effectively in cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment.
• Familiarity with embedded operating systems or RTOS, communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN), and basic hardware testing tools is beneficial.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to document designs, tests, and project status clearly.
