LV Electrician The Sukari mine is located approximately 750 km from Cairo and 25 km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea coast. The first gold bullion was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country that has historically been a prolific producer of the precious metal. The Sukari mine manages open-pit and underground mining operations, with each method using specialized mining techniques tailored to the characteristics of the ore body and operational requirements. Job Role AngloGold Ashanti is looking for an LV Electrician for the Sukari mine to safely and effectively carry out planned and unplanned maintenance activities on a shift basis. The primary responsibility of the role is to perform maintenance work while adhering to required quality standards and company expectations, to ensure equipment reliability and availability. The LV Electrician works within the mobile equipment maintenance team, supporting safe execution of work, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, accurate maintenance reporting, and active participation in safety and improvement initiatives. Location: Egypt Contract Type: Permanent Work System (Schedule): Roster system 20 days on / 10 days off Key Responsibilities Equipment Inspection: Conducting checks and identifying corrective work before breakdowns occur. Prioritizing Work: Ensuring identified work is prioritized based on potential Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) risks and equipment availability. Safe Maintenance Execution: Confirming task requirements and risks before starting, complying with permits, isolation, risk assessments, and site requirements. Task Preparation and Completion: Collecting required tools and equipment, then completing the assigned work safely, effectively, and on time. Equipment Testing and Commissioning: Verifying that faults are repaired and returning machinery to a usable state. Record Keeping and Housekeeping: Completing maintenance documentation to the required standard, reporting damaged or missing tools, and maintaining clean work areas. Team Improvement Support: Participating in training, safety meetings, and improvement initiatives as directed. Requirements and Conditions Certificate in Auto-Electrical. Valid driver's license. Minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in the automotive, heavy equipment, or construction sector. Ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery and equipment. Understanding of Caterpillar equipment and systems. Ability to identify hazards and perform risk assessments. Ability to read and interpret workshop manuals and schematic drawings. Troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Ability to read and write in Arabic; knowledge of English is preferred. Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.
