Role Description The Senior GL Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm El Sheikh Zaid. This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. Daily tasks include reconciling accounts, reviewing financial transactions for accuracy, supporting the preparation of financial statements, and monitoring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. The Senior GL Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze variances, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide financial insights to management. This role may also lead or support process improvements and assist in audits by preparing required documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Strong general ledger accounting skills, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and financial statement support.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, variance analysis, and reporting to support management decision-making.
• Experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms, along with solid Excel and data management capabilities.
• Knowledge of applicable accounting standards and internal control practices, with attention to accuracy and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
• Several years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, or a similarly fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on-site, manage multiple deadlines, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and collaborate within a team.
