Company Description China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd (Tanzania) is a key contractor for pipeline, feederline, and above-ground installation works on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project. EACOP involves the construction and operation of an underground, cross-border pipeline transporting crude oil from Uganda to international markets. The pipeline extends from Kabaale in Hoima District, Uganda, to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga in Tanzania. With a total length of 1,443 km, including 1,147 km within Tanzania, the project offers exposure to large-scale energy infrastructure and cross-country engineering operations.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Instrumentation and Control Engineer located in Cairo, Egypt. The engineer will design, configure, and maintain instrumentation and control systems for pipeline and related facilities, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Daily activities include developing control strategies, specifying and selecting instruments, overseeing installation and commissioning, and supporting integration with electrical and mechanical systems. The role also involves diagnosing control system issues, optimizing process performance, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contractors. The engineer will support compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures while providing technical guidance during construction and operation phases.
Qualifications

• Strong Process Control skills, including control strategy development and implementation for industrial and pipeline systems.
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, including familiarity with control panels, wiring, and instrument power and signal systems.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting of instrumentation, control loops, automation systems, and field devices.
• Experience with Motion Control systems and Robotics in industrial or pipeline-related automation environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of industrial standards and safety practices for oil and gas or large infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and develop P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
• Relevant experience in instrumentation and control for pipelines, process plants, or energy projects is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on-site and adapt to project schedules and field conditions.
