Team Leader – Power Systems & Renewable Energy

OHK Consultants is seeking an experienced power sector professional to lead a multidisciplinary advisory team supporting energy sector modernization in Egypt.

Your role

• Manage technical delivery, work plans, expert inputs, quality assurance and progress reporting.

• Guide power system modelling, renewable connection studies and network upgrade planning, identifying constraints and investment priorities.

• Oversee assessments of grid reliability and resilience, including physical, climate and cybersecurity risks.

• Evaluate storage, smart grids, microgrids and demand response solutions, considering technical performance and economic viability.

• Advise on long-term energy planning, grid codes, regulatory improvements and institutional reforms.

• Translate findings into practical implementation roadmaps, performance indicators and pilot initiatives.

• Work closely with public institutions, utilities, regulators and development partners, while overseeing training and knowledge transfer.

Your background

• Master’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, power systems, renewable energy or a related discipline.

• At least 10 years of direct experience integrating renewable generation into national or regional grids, including solar, wind or hybrid systems.

• Strong expertise in grid planning, forecasting, system stability and international connection standards.

• Proficiency with power system analysis tools such as PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP or HOMER.

• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams and experience advising utilities, system operators and regulators.

• Excellent English. Arabic and experience with internationally funded programmes are advantages.

The assignment will be primarily based in Cairo. Appointment is subject to contract award.
