Job Title: Control Electrical Technician

Department: Maintenance Department – Electrical Maintenance

Direct Manager: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor / Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Work Location: 10th of Ramadan City - Sharqia

Job Purpose

Ensure the stable and safe operation of electrical control systems in machines and production lines by implementing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing electrical and electronic faults in industrial control systems, and maintaining the efficiency of control panels and measuring and control devices, thereby ensuring the continuity of production operations, reducing downtime, and achieving the highest level of operational reliability for industrial equipment.

Role Scope

The scope of work for a Control Electrical Technician includes handling components of Industrial Control Systems, which includes:

• Electrical power circuits
• Industrial control circuits
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems
• Industrial measurement and sensing devices
• Electric motor operating systems
• Electric motor speed control systems
• Electrical protection systems

Detailed Tasks and Responsibilities

First: Operation and Maintenance of Industrial Control Systems

1. Perform installation and maintenance of electrical control circuits for industrial machines and production lines.
2. Inspect and operate electrical control panels and verify the integrity of their components.
3. Monitor the efficiency of control systems associated with production equipment.
4. Adjust operating system settings to comply with industrial operational requirements.
5. Ensure the proper functioning of Sequence Control systems within machines.

Second: Analysis and Diagnosis of Electrical Faults

1. Analyze electrical faults in machines using systematic diagnostic methodologies.
2. Identify the root causes of electrical and electronic malfunctions.
3. Inspect power circuits and control circuits to locate points of failure.
4. Use electrical measuring instruments to accurately identify faults.
5. Implement necessary technical repairs and re-test systems after maintenance.

Third: Maintenance of Industrial Control Panels

1. Perform periodic maintenance on electrical control panels within the factory.
2. Inspect key components of panels, such as:

• Circuit breakers
• Contactors
• Electrical relays
• Power supply units

1. Ensure tightness of electrical connections and prevent overheating inside panels.
2. Clean electrical panels from dust and moisture.
3. Check electrical insulation levels.

Fourth: Handling Industrial Electric Motors

1. Operate and maintain electric motors used in production lines.
2. Inspect motor starting systems.
3. Ensure the efficiency of motor protection systems.
4. Analyze electrical faults associated with motors.
5. Adjust motor operating settings to suit industrial loads.

Fifth: Operation and Maintenance of Speed Control Systems

1. Operate and adjust motor speed control devices (VFD / Inverter).
2. Read and analyze fault codes for speed control units.
3. Adjust operating parameters such as:

• Acceleration
• Deceleration
• Current limits

1. Ensure the compatibility of speed control systems with operational requirements.

Sixth: Maintenance of Industrial Measurement and Sensing Devices

1. Inspect and maintain industrial sensors used in production lines.
2. Adjust sensor positions to ensure operational accuracy.
3. Test the efficiency of industrial measuring devices.
4. Replace damaged or inaccurate sensors.
5. Ensure the integrity of control signals sent to control systems.

Seventh: Handling Programmable Logic Controller Systems

1. Monitor input and output signals for programmable control units.
2. Analyze operational issues associated with control programs.
3. Inspect connections of logic control systems.
4. Assist in testing control programs after modifications or maintenance.
5. Support automation engineers in system commissioning processes.

Eighth: Implementing Preventive Maintenance

1. Implement approved preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
2. Prepare periodic maintenance reports.
3. Log faults and repairs performed.
4. Track recurring fault indicators.
5. Contribute to improving equipment reliability.

Ninth: Adherence to Industrial Safety Requirements

1. Adhere to electrical safety procedures within the factory.
2. Apply energy isolation procedures (Lockout/Tagout) before performing maintenance.
3. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
4. Report any electrical or operational hazards.
5. Adhere to occupational health and safety standards.

Required Scientific Knowledge

The job holder must possess strong knowledge of basic scientific concepts in the fields of:

Required Qualifications

• Industrial Technical Diploma (Electrical major) or Industrial Technical Institute (Electrical major).

Required Experience

• Practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in industrial electrical system maintenance.
• Experience in plastic production and extrusion factories is preferred.
