Role Description The Senior General Accountant & Bookkeeper ERP is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger postings, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly/annual closing activities within the ERP system. The individual will prepare financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, monitor cash flow, and ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing and approving journal entries, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors, and generating ERP-based financial and management reports for leadership. The role also contributes to process optimization, ERP enhancements, and strong internal controls to support scalable financial operations in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Strong general accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software, including setting up and maintaining charts of accounts, workflows, and financial reporting modules.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow monitoring, with the ability to produce accurate and timely financial statements.
• Understanding of local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, with experience supporting audits and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
• Several years of progressive experience in accounting roles, including senior-level or lead positions, ideally in technology or fast-growing companies.
