About the location

Seaside glamour on the Egyptian Riviera, with Egyptian underpinnings and a sleek waterfront setting, our resort-style hotel embodies modern Alexandria and its unique cosmopolitan flair. On one side, the Mediterranean Sea glistens in the sun; on the other, a dynamic metropolis buzzes with life. This stunning resort-style hotel opened in June 2007 and combines classic hotel design with modern and contemporary beach suites and villas.

Connected to a shopping mall, the hotel has 154 rooms, including 31 suites, 30 beach suites, and 6 villas with private pools. It also features a private beach, a seawater infinity beach pool, a heated indoor pool, a spa and fitness center, and 10 food and beverage venues, including an open-air beach restaurant with 350 seats.

About the role

Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria is looking for a director of food and beverage to provide leadership and management for the food and beverage division. The role establishes plans of character, integrity, and quality that support the division’s and hotel’s continued long-term growth and profitability.

What you will do

• Manage the selection, training, and development of the food and beverage division through effective leadership, ensuring established cultural and core standards are met and supporting long-range strategic planning for the division’s operations.
• Work closely and cooperatively with the general manager and planning committee to design effective menus, wine lists, and amenity options while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price.
• Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policymaking, and inventory control. Focus on creative cost-control and revenue-generation solutions to maximize profit for the division and hotel.
• Maintain a visible presence in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests, and cultivate relationships with new patrons through effective marketing and personal connections.

What you will bring

• A college degree, preferably specializing in hotel or restaurant management or business administration, or equivalent experience.
• One to two years of experience as a director of food and beverage, or three to four years of experience as an assistant director of food and beverage with upscale luxury brands.
• International experience and the ability to demonstrate leadership and management of the food and beverage division while upholding company integrity and quality.
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
