ROLE SUMMARY: Khalil Gibran School (KGS) is a British international school based in Rabat, offering an English National Curriculum pathway from Early Years through to the Primary and Secondary years. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, high-quality learning environment in which every child is known, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. For an August 2027 start, Khalil Gibran School is seeking an outstanding Whole School Head of Mathematics to lead teaching and learning across the school. The successful candidate will be an experienced Mathematics leader and strong classroom practitioner with proven experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Mathematics, including IGCSE Additional Mathematics. The role will lead curriculum development, raise student attainment and progress, and support the continued development of the Mathematics team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and develop Mathematics teaching and learning across KS2 KS5.
• Teach and lead Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Additional Mathematics and A Level Mathematics.
• Lead curriculum development, assessment and the effective use of data to drive student progress and attainment.
• Line manage, mentor and develop the Mathematics team.
• Ensure students are well prepared for Cambridge examinations and achieve strong outcomes.
• Promote enrichment opportunities that develop engagement and a love of Mathematics.
• Work collaboratively with SLT and other departments to support whole-school priorities.

Desired Candidate Profile

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject and a recognised teaching qualification.
• Significant secondary Mathematics teaching experience, including proven experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Mathematics.
• Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics.
• Previous experience in a Mathematics leadership or middle leadership role.
• A proven track record of raising student attainment and achieving strong examination outcomes.
• Excellent subject knowledge, pedagogy, leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience working within a British, Cambridge or international school environment is desirable.
• A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing and developing a high-performing Mathematics team.
