Take ownership of the numbers behind operational performance

We are supporting a well-established and growing Saudi group in strengthening its PMO and are looking to appoint both a Senior Cost Control Specialist and Cost Control Specialist.

These are not traditional accounting positions, nor are they purely reporting roles.

You'll work at the intersection of Finance and Operations, helping the business understand where costs are moving, why performance is changing, how profitable its operations are and what action needs to be taken.

The environment spans multiple operational businesses, giving you exposure beyond a single project and the opportunity to contribute to a developing PMO and cost-control function.

What you'll be doing

• Monitor and analyse costs across projects and operational activities.
• Analyse direct and indirect costs, cost structures and allocations.
• Compare actual performance against approved budgets and forecasts.
• Identify cost variances, overruns and underlying cost drivers.
• Support budgeting and prepare/update cost forecasts.
• Analyse revenue, margins and profitability.
• Apply cost-control methodologies including Earned Value, CPI/SPI and related performance measures, where applicable.
• Turn financial and operational data into meaningful management insight.
• Develop cost reports, dashboards and KPIs.
• Work closely with Operations, Finance and PMO to understand what's driving the numbers.
• Identify opportunities for corrective action, stronger controls and improved profitability.
• Help strengthen cost-control processes and visibility across the organisation.

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who actually work with the numbers, rather than simply receiving information from other teams and consolidating it into reports.

You should be able to demonstrate practical experience across several of the following:

• Cost control and cost analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Budget vs. actual analysis
• Direct and indirect costs
• Cost allocation and cost structures
• Variance and root-cause analysis
• Revenue and profitability analysis
• Gross profit, net profit and margins
• Earned Value / EVM
• CPI / SPI
• Management reporting and KPIs
• Working closely with operational teams

You do not need to come from one specific sector.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

EPC & Construction | Oil & Gas | Industrial Services | Heavy Equipment | Equipment Rental | Transportation & Logistics | Manufacturing | Infrastructure | Facilities Management | Other Operational / Asset-Intensive Businesses

What matters more is having the right combination of hands-on costing + financial understanding + operational awareness.

This is also not a Quantity Surveying position, and an engineering background is not essential. The requirement is for someone who can bridge Finance and Operations with cost control at the core.

Which level could suit you?

Senior Cost Control Specialist – Up to SAR 15,000 total monthly package

Best suited to someone who can demonstrate stronger independent ownership across cost analysis, forecasting, profitability, variance analysis and management reporting, with the ability to interpret the numbers and recommend action.

Cost Control Specialist – Up to SAR 13,000 total monthly package

Suitable for someone with solid hands-on cost-control foundations who can work with cost structures, budgets, actuals, variances and reporting, but may still be developing the broader analytical and forecasting depth required at Senior level.
