Job description

Job Purpose

To ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of SAP systems through effective Basis administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical support across all SAP environments.

Key Accountability Areas

SAP System Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems.
• Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
• Manage SAP instances, profiles, parameters, and services.
• Perform regular system checks and troubleshooting.
• Support DEV, QA, and PRD environments.

SAP Transport, Upgrade & Patch Management:

• Configure and manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS).
• Manage transports across DEV, QA, and PRD.
• Perform SAP kernel upgrades and patching.
• Support SAP upgrades, migrations, and system refreshes.
• Ensure proper change and release management.

Performance, Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Monitor SAP application and database performance.
• Analyze work processes, system logs, dumps, and workload.
• Troubleshoot system performance and availability issues.
• Monitor background jobs, RFCs, and interfaces.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve technical incidents.

Security, Backup & Disaster Recovery:

• Manage SAP technical users and access-related issues.
• Support SAP security and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor database and SAP backups.
• Support restore, recovery, and Disaster Recovery (DR) activities.
• Participate in High Availability (HA) and DR testing.

Technical Support, Documentation & Consulting:

• Provide technical support for SAP Basis-related issues.
• Coordinate with functional, ABAP, database, network, and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in SAP implementation, migration, and integration projects.
• Maintain technical documentation and operating procedures.
• Provide technical recommendations, mentoring, and continuous improvement.

• Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.

• Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-Solving:

• Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality:

• Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvement:

• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

• Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Information Mgmt. Sciences & Systems or Any relevant field
