About the Role of Corrosion Engineer

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail is seeking an experienced Corrosion Engineer to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern Region. This full-time role focuses on developing corrosion-resistant pipe products for critical applications across various industries. The successful candidate will be instrumental in evaluating materials, designing innovative anti-corrosion solutions, and optimizing product performance.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Corrosion Engineer will be responsible for advancing corrosion control strategies for products used in the oil and gas (OCTG and line pipe), geothermal energy, hydrogen transportation, and carbon capture sectors. This position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to enhance efficiency and sustainability, with a strong emphasis on technological advancements and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize corrosion-resistant solutions specifically for OCTG and line pipe applications.
• Collaborate with Metallurgy engineers to design and develop steel alloys tailored for oil and gas, geothermal energy, hydrogen transportation, carbon capture, and other relevant applications.
• Evaluate material performance under corrosive conditions and conduct laboratory tests to ensure compliance with industrial standards such as NACE MR0175 or ISO 15156.
• Oversee testing protocols to verify that products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production processes, including clean steel production for sour and corrosion applications, to ensure alignment with design specifications and quality standards.
• Partner with industry experts to integrate technological advancements into steel alloy design strategies.
• Lead initiatives incorporating cutting-edge technologies to address emerging corrosion trends.
• Collaborate with technology, quality, and operations teams to optimize product performance and ensure design objectives are met.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, maintaining familiarity with international standards.
• Provide technical support to engineering teams, ensuring corrosion control measures are effectively integrated into design.
• Prepare detailed reports, analyses, and recommendations based on corrosion assessments and testing results.
• Offer training on corrosion techniques and best practices to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in corrosion engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in corrosion science and engineering.
• Familiarity with the oil and gas, geothermal energy, hydrogen transportation, and carbon capture industries.
• Strong focus on technological advancements in corrosion prevention and material science.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, requiring active collaboration within a professional engineering and manufacturing environment.
