SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time position. This role involves professional accounting work, focusing on the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The Senior Accountant ensures daily financial oversight to maintain complete, accurate financial records that comply with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies. The position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general or cost accounting activities requiring analytical insight and understanding.
• Apply accounting techniques and standard practices for classifying and recording financial transactions.
• Ensure proper handling of financial transactions and approvals within designated limits.
• Assist superiors in preparing MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards.
• Ensure the accuracy and clarity of data in all financial reports.
• Utilize assigned software proficiently.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
• Ensure records and analysis accurately reflect business performance and are available in real-time.
• Establish tables of accounts and record all entries to their proper accounts, ensuring correct assignment of account numbers.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs, and ensuring accuracy of this analysis.
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current computer technology, ensuring real-time availability of financial reports.
• Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, and cash, ensuring audit accuracy.
• Make and ensure accuracy of correcting journal entries in assigned areas.
• Appraise, evaluate, and conduct inventory of real property and equipment, recording descriptions, values, and locations, ensuring accuracy and full accountability within the inventory.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Demonstrated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and policies.
• Proficiency in financial data compilation, consolidation, and analysis.
