Job Description: Plant Manager – Steel Fabrication
Company: SESCO Steel Solutions
Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia
Experience: Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience, including at least 7 years in the same position.
Job Summary
SESCO Steel Solutions is seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead its steel fabrication facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining high quality and safety standards, controlling operational costs, and achieving production targets while meeting project schedules and customer requirements.
STEEL FABRICATION EXPERIENCE IS MUST. Candidates must have a proven track record in managing steel fabrication plants and leading large-scale industrial manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all daily plant operations, including steel cutting, fitting, welding, assembly, finishing, and dispatch.
Develop and implement production plans to achieve manufacturing targets and project delivery schedules.
Monitor production performance, operational efficiency, capacity utilization, labor productivity, and manufacturing costs.
Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, fabrication procedures, welding requirements, and applicable quality standards.
Lead and manage production managers, supervisors, engineers, technicians, welders, fabricators, and other plant employees.
Coordinate with Technical Office, Planning, Quality Control, Maintenance, Procurement, and Project Management teams.
Optimize the utilization of manpower, machinery, equipment, raw materials, and other production resources.
Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime.
Control material consumption, scrap, rework, and operational waste to improve profitability.
Establish and monitor KPIs related to production output, quality, safety, cost, and on-time delivery.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and applicable Saudi industrial regulations.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
Prepare periodic plant performance reports and present operational results and improvement plans to senior management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or steel fabrication.
At least 7 years of experience in the same position as Plant Manager within the steel fabrication industry.
STEEL FABRICATION EXPERIENCE IS MUST. Candidates without direct steel fabrication experience will NOT be considered.
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, including cutting, fitting, welding, assembly, and finishing.
Proven experience managing steel fabrication plants, production operations, and large industrial workforces.
Strong understanding of production planning, quality control, welding standards, equipment maintenance, and cost management.
Experience in structural steel, heavy steel structures, steel buildings, or related fabrication projects.
Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to achieve production targets while maintaining quality, safety, and delivery standards.
Experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC industrial sector is an advantage.
