About the Role
Gulf Packaging Industries is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist to manage strategic sourcing and procurement activities. This full-time position is based in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia and requires 5-10 years of experience, specifically within the plastic manufacturing and packaging industry.
Role Overview
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will oversee the sourcing of critical raw materials, including plastic resins, packaging materials, films, and other polymer-based materials. This role is central to ensuring material availability, optimizing costs, and mitigating supply chain risks for the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for plastic raw materials, packaging materials, films, and polymer resins.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify local and international suppliers based on cost, quality, technical capability, reliability, and delivery performance.
- Source materials such as PE, PP, PET, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PVC, and other relevant polymers according to business requirements.
- Manage the sourcing of flexible packaging materials, plastic films, stretch films, shrink films, and other packaging-related products.
- Establish and maintain a qualified supplier base to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities for cost optimization and supplier consolidation.
- Develop alternative sourcing channels to reduce dependency on single suppliers and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Identify opportunities for bulk purchasing, long-term supply agreements, and favorable contract structures.
- Prepare market intelligence reports, cost forecasts, and sourcing recommendations for management.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
- Strong background in the plastic manufacturing and packaging industry.
Work Setting
This is a full-time position located in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia. The role involves managing a critical aspect of the supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
