تفاصيل الوظيفة
1. Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations across all warehouses, stores, and yards, covering steel plates, structural sections (beams, columns, angles, channels), pipes, fittings, fasteners, welding consumables, gases, paint and coatings, and finished or semi-finished fabricated items.
Lead, motivate, and develop supervisors, storekeepers, material controllers, crane and forklift operators, and riggers, building a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Build a cross-skilled team that can move flexibly between warehouses and areas (receiving, cutting-stock yard, consumables store, dispatch).
Establish KPI-driven performance management to use labor, equipment, and space effectively.
2. Systems and Process Optimization
Implement and optimize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and integrate it with ERP, production planning, and project systems.
Introduce heat/plate number and mill certificate (MTC) traceability, barcode or RFID tagging, and location control so every item can be traced from receipt to issue to project.
Optimize storage layout for long and heavy materials, including racking, cantilever storage, plate stacking, and crane coverage, to maximize capacity and reduce handling and double-handling.
Manage remnant and offcut tracking, and support nesting and cutting-list planning with Production to improve material yield and reduce scrap.
Benchmark against industry best practices and drive initiatives that cut cost, eliminate waste, and improve productivity.
3. Cost and Inventory Management
Manage the annual warehouse budget.
Continuously scrutinize and reduce operating expenses, inventory holding costs, labor productivity losses, equipment hire, and external storage and haulage costs.
Develop and enforce SOPs for receiving inspection, material segregation, issue control, inventory control, working capital efficiency, and obsolete or surplus stock management, including project-specific and client-owned (free-issue) materials.
Ensure inventory accuracy through rigorous cycle counts and periodic stock audits.
Control material preservation and storage conditions: corrosion protection for steel, humidity and temperature control for consumables (e.g., baked or sealed electrodes), and segregation of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials to prevent cross-contamination.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Production, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Sales, Logistics, and Finance to align material flow with the project schedule and fabrication sequence.
Manage material readiness for projects, including kitting, staging, and timely release to workshops against work orders.
Coordinate outbound loading and dispatch of heavy and oversized items, including lifting plans, transport permits, and escort requirements.
Support broader business transformation and operational excellence initiatives, such as lean, 5S, and plant expansion.
Handle escalated customer, client, and vendor issues effectively.
5. Compliance and Safety
Promote a safety-first culture and work toward zero lost-time injuries.
Ensure safe lifting operations: certified cranes, slings, and lifting gear; inspection and tagging; competent riggers and signalmen; and safe load-handling procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policy, client requirements, and regulations covering customs (ZATCA), Civil Defense fire safety, hazardous material storage (gases, paints, solvents), and safe stacking and traffic management in yards.
Support heat stress management and compliance with the summer midday work ban at outdoor yards.
Support audit readiness for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and client audits (e.g., Aramco or other major clients), including material traceability and quality records.
6. Reporting and People Development
Produce monthly KPI reports covering inventory accuracy, OTIF material availability to production, issue accuracy, material damage and loss, stock ageing, space utilization, labor and equipment utilization, and cost against budget.
Regularly review operational and financial performance and give data-driven recommendations to senior management.
Develop training programs covering WMS use, material identification and traceability, safe lifting and rigging, forklift and crane operation, and housekeeping.
Support Saudization targets by developing Saudi nationals in storekeeping, material control, and supervisory roles.
