Hostess

Job Summary

The Hostess is responsible for creating a warm and memorable first impression by welcoming guests managing reservations coordinating seating arrangements and ensuring a smooth flow of service. The Hostess represents the restaurants image by providing professional personalized and attentive service while maximizing guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Welcome guests with a warm and professional greeting.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Maintain a positive friendly and engaging attitude at all times.
• Recognize returning and VIP guests whenever possible.
• Handle guest inquiries requests and complaints professionally escalating concerns when necessary.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.

Reservations & Seating Management

• Manage restaurant reservations through the reservation system.
• Optimize table allocation to maximize seating capacity while maintaining service quality.
• Maintain an accurate waiting list and communicate estimated waiting times.
• Coordinate table assignments with the Restaurant Manager and service team.
• Monitor dining room occupancy and turnover.

Restaurant Operations

• Ensure the hostess stand is clean organized and fully equipped.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally.
• Respond to reservation inquiries via phone email and online platforms.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams regarding table availability.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant before opening and after closing.

Guest Relations

• Gather guest preferences and special requests.
• Support the team in delivering personalized guest experiences.
• Promote restaurant events promotions and special menus.
• Encourage guest feedback and communicate opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications :

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality or Tourism is an advantage.
• Previous experience as a Hostess Receptionist or Guest Service Agent in a luxury/ upscale hotel or restaurant preferred.
• Experience using restaurant reservation systems (e.g. SevenRooms OpenTable TableCheck or similar) is an advantage.
