Assistant Manager, Modern Trade

Job Summary

Our client a leading FMCG and food & beverage company in Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Modern Trade to join its Sales team in Riyadh.

The role is responsible for driving sales growth strengthening customer partnerships improving in-store execution and ensuring strong distribution visibility and product availability across assigned Modern Trade accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with customers and support negotiations related to visibility shelf space promotions and commercial agreements.
• Achieve sales volume targets by category within the assigned territory.
• Drive core distribution and support the listing of new SKUs.
• Ensure agreed visibility displays promotional activities and in-store execution are implemented effectively.
• Conduct regular field visits and follow up with assigned stores to ensure product availability.
• Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with key customers.
• Monitor market intelligence including sales trends competitor activity new launches customer plans and shopper behavior.
• Ensure on-shelf availability by coordinating with merchandisers and following up through store visits.
• Monitor shelf and warehouse stock rotation and short-expiry issues.
• Ensure product handling and in-store conditions are in line with company standards.
• Follow up on customer collections and financial reconciliation according to agreed payment terms.
• Maintain accurate customer records sales activity reports and required documentation.
• Supervise and follow up with merchandisers on journey plans and in-store execution.
• Provide feedback on product placement secondary displays checkouts gondolas and stock handling.
• Ensure all sales and trade activities comply with applicable company policies local regulations and responsible marketing standards.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Marketing or a related field.
• 23 years of relevant sales experience preferably in FMCG or food & beverage.
• Experience in Modern Trade Key Account Management or retail sales is preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
• Strong communication selling negotiation and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of sales distribution inventory retail conditions and in-store execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel Word and Outlook.
• Experience with POS or related sales systems is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Profile

Candidates with experience in FMCG food & beverage Modern Trade Key Accounts retail sales merchandising category execution or commercial sales will be highly considered.
