The Senior Garment Merchandiser at Malabisy is a full-time, on-site role based in Nasr City, Egypt, responsible for managing the end-to-end garment manufacturing process, from fabric sourcing and sampling to bulk production and final delivery to the warehouse.
The role focuses on sourcing and evaluating fabrics, building strong relationships with fabric suppliers, garment factories, and manufacturing workshops, negotiating prices, managing garment costing, and ensuring production meets quality standards and delivery timelines.
The Senior Garment Merchandiser will oversee sampling, production planning, material consumption, supplier coordination, quality control, and final product inspection. The role also involves monitoring manufacturing costs, optimizing production efficiency, resolving production issues, and ensuring products meet the required specifications.
This position requires a commercially minded professional who understands both garment manufacturing and business profitability, with the ability to make sourcing and production decisions that balance quality, cost, lead time, and market demand.
Qualifications- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing garment manufacturing, from sampling to bulk production.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, including composition, GSM, shrinkage, quality evaluation, and fabric consumption.
- An established network of fabric suppliers, garment factories, and manufacturing workshops in Egypt.
- Proven experience in garment costing, CMT negotiations, supplier pricing, and production cost optimization.
- Experience managing sampling, production planning, manufacturing timelines, and bulk production quantities.
- Strong understanding of garment quality control, product specifications, and final inspection procedures.
- Experience managing women's fashion collections is a strong advantage.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance product quality, manufacturing costs, delivery timelines, and profitability.
- Ability to manage multiple production orders and coordinate with design, operations, warehouse, and commercial teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with production tracking tools or ERP systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, Textile Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Cairo, Egypt.
