Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Cost Accountant role is based in Cairo, Egypt at Knoz El Hekma - شركة كنوز الحكمة. The Senior Cost Accountant will oversee cost accounting processes, including cost allocations, standard costing, variance analysis, and product profitability assessments. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing cost reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing cost-related insights to management for decision-making. The role involves preparing and reconciling journal entries, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards. The Senior Cost Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize cost structures, and contribute to continuous improvement of financial and accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end costing cycle on Odoo (Manufacturing, Inventory, and Accounting modules), including setting up and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and Work Centers.
• Calculate accurate product costs covering raw materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
• Monitor Manufacturing Orders and analyze variances between actual and standard costs, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Oversee inventory valuation across raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods, ensuring the integrity of related journal entries.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and product profitability and margin analyses for senior management.
• Support pricing decisions and drive cost reduction initiatives, including scrap and waste minimization.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure data accuracy within the system.
• Participate in periodic stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system balances.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• [3–5] years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven hands-on experience with Odoo ERP (mandatory), particularly the Manufacturing, Inventory, and Accounting modules.
• Solid understanding of costing methods: standard costing, job order costing, and process costing.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly.
• Professional certification such as CMA is a strong plus.
