Junior Architect

1. Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Architect to support architectural design and construction projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior architects, assisting with design development, architectural drawings, technical documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams. The role requires a solid understanding of architectural principles, building codes, construction standards, and architectural design software.

2. Job Responsibilities

• Prepare architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and technical specifications.
• Support architectural design development in accordance with project requirements and approved design standards.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings and design specifications.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and construction details.
• Identify design discrepancies and support the resolution of technical issues.
• Prepare architectural presentations, project reports, and technical documentation.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, material quantities, and project schedules.
• Ensure architectural drawings and documentation comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and project standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date architectural drawings and project records.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and contribute to design reviews.
• Stay updated on architectural design trends, construction methods, and industry best practices.

3. Job Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, including space planning, form, function, aesthetics, and usability.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, BIM tools, or similar architectural design software.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and other requirements affecting architectural design and construction.
• Ability to prepare accurate technical drawings and blueprints, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Understanding of construction methods, building materials, and architectural detailing.
• Strong communication skills to convey design ideas and collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Good coordination, organization, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Knowledge of project management software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, is desirable.

4. Job Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in architecture, architectural design, or construction projects.
• Previous experience working in an architectural or construction firm.
• Practical experience in architectural drawings, design documentation, and project coordination.
• Experience using project management software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and building design standards.

5. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Revit, BIM tools, or other architectural design software is an advantage.
• Ability to read, interpret, and prepare architectural drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
