Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical BIM Engineer to lead and coordinate mechanical BIM modeling activities across residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical BIM models, ensuring technical accuracy, design compliance, and effective integration with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. BIM Modeling & Development

• Develop, review, and manage detailed Mechanical BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Model HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems according to approved designs and project requirements.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet the required Level of Development (LOD 300–400).
• Prepare coordinated mechanical shop drawings, sections, details, and schedules.
• Maintain model accuracy and consistency throughout project stages.

2. BIM Coordination & Clash Detection

• Perform interdisciplinary coordination between Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, and Structural models.
• Conduct clash detection and resolution using Autodesk Navisworks.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts before construction.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and follow up on technical issues.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure constructability.

3. Technical Review & Quality Control

• Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, and BIM models for technical compliance.
• Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Verify mechanical equipment locations, routing, maintenance clearances, and system accessibility.
• Review mechanical shop drawings and material submittals when required.
• Implement BIM quality assurance and quality control procedures.

4. BIM Documentation & Deliverables

• Prepare mechanical BIM deliverables in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Generate accurate quantities, schedules, and material takeoffs from BIM models.
• Develop and update coordinated construction drawings and as-built BIM models.
• Maintain proper model documentation, revisions, and file organization.
• Support BIM standards, naming conventions, and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.

5. Team Leadership & Project Coordination

• Supervise and guide junior Mechanical BIM Engineers and Modelers.
• Assign modeling tasks and monitor BIM deliverable progress.
• Coordinate with the BIM Manager, Technical Office, and project stakeholders.
• Support the development of BIM workflows, templates, and modeling standards.
• Ensure timely delivery of BIM outputs according to project schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 4 years in BIM modeling and coordination.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage.
• Excellent knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Proven experience in BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Strong understanding of mechanical shop drawings and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with BIM standards, ISO 19650, and LOD requirements.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 is preferred.
• Familiarity with Dynamo and BIM automation is an advantage.
