Millions of Egyptian students prepare for their exams with El Adwaa (الأضواء) books. We’re looking for an education leader who can make the next edition of our Social Studies books better than any competitor’s.

What you’ll own

• Lead a team of Subject Matter Supervisors, Consultants, and SMEs, and decide who writes what, to what standard, and by when.
• Set your department’s annual development plan and get it approved by the Head of Content.
• Turn evidence into better books: teacher and supervisor feedback, market research, and side-by-side analysis against competing titles.
• Run development workshops with the Art, Marketing, and Sales teams to agree on each term’s book development plan.
• Review and approve all content, samples, and edits before they go to print.
• Work with external authors when needed, agreeing on revisions and holding them to the plan.
• Prepare Sales and Marketing teams to sell the book: its strengths, how it’s different, and how to answer teachers’ questions.
• Build your team’s skills through coaching and training plans, and keep the strong people on it.

What you need to bring:

• At least 10 years of experience in teaching and/or educational book publishing, including at least 5 years leading a team.
• Deep knowledge of the Egyptian Social Studies curriculum and how teachers and students actually use external books.
• A track record of books or content you developed or improved that sold, were adopted, or got measurable feedback (be ready to show it).
• A university degree. Specialized certifications in education or pedagogy are required.
• Strong knowledge of instructional design and different learning models.
• Commercial sense: you understand that a great book also has to win in a competitive market.
• The composure to manage tight print deadlines and many stakeholders at the same time.
