Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time remote role responsible for supporting volunteer engagement across Faculty of Engineering initiatives and events. This role involves recruiting and onboarding volunteers, organizing training sessions, and maintaining clear communication with volunteer teams. The coordinator will schedule and assign tasks, track attendance and participation, and ensure volunteers have the resources and guidance needed to succeed. They will collaborate with faculty members and student groups to identify volunteer needs, promote opportunities, and support community outreach activities related to engineering programs. The role also includes maintaining records, preparing simple reports on volunteer activities, and suggesting improvements to volunteer processes.

Qualifications

• Strong volunteer management and coordination skills, including experience with organizing teams and assigning tasks.
• Ability to provide effective volunteer training and support, with a focus on clarity, inclusivity, and safety.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities, both written and verbal, for engaging a diverse volunteer base.
• Experience in community outreach, event support, or student engagement activities.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.
• Comfort with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, online meeting platforms) to manage schedules and communication.
• Previous experience in a volunteer coordination or student affairs role is an advantage.
• Relevant education in social sciences, education, management, or a related field is beneficial, but equivalent experience is also valued.
