El Ezz Developments is looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior General Accountant with a solid background in construction and real estate development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger records, supporting financial closing, preparing reconciliations, monitoring project-related accounting transactions, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Financial Closing

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and adjustments.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, subsidiary ledgers, and trial balances.

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting financial schedules.

• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.

• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and relevant reconciliations.

Construction & Real Estate Accounting

• Review and reconcile construction project costs against approved supporting documentation.

• Monitor project-related expenses, cost allocations, advances, and work-in-progress accounts.

• Review contractor payment certificates, subcontractor accounts, retentions, and advance settlements.

• Reconcile supplier and subcontractor balances with supporting invoices, contracts, and payment records.

• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Projects, Accounts Payable, and Treasury departments.

• Support accurate project-level financial reporting and cost classification.

Taxation, Compliance & Financial Controls

• Review accounting treatment of VAT, withholding taxes, and relevant Egyptian tax obligations.

• Support tax reconciliations, reporting, and preparation of supporting documentation.

• Ensure compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards, applicable IFRS requirements, and company accounting policies.

• Support internal and external audits through organized accounting records and reconciliations.

• Identify accounting inconsistencies, unsupported transactions, and opportunities for stronger financial controls.

ERP & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and properly classified accounting transactions within the ERP system.

• Support month-end reconciliation between ERP modules and the general ledger.

• Assist in improving accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and documentation procedures.

• Prepare financial analyses and management reports using advanced Microsoft Excel.

• Support ERP data validation, reconciliation, and process improvements.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• +8years of relevant professional accounting experience.

• Demonstrated accounting experience in construction and/or real estate development is mandatory.

• Strong experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, trial balance preparation, and financial closing.

• Practical knowledge of contractor accounting, project costs, supplier accounts, and construction-related documentation.

• Proven hands-on experience with an ERP accounting system.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.

• Good knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards, VAT, withholding taxes, and financial controls.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP.

• Experience in companies operating across multiple construction and development projects.

• Exposure to project cost accounting and financial reporting.

• Professional accounting certifications or relevant IFRS training.
