As part of the internship program youll work on meaningful projects collaborate with experienced professionals and develop your leadership and communication skills and learn the GE Vernova way within your assigned function.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to Substation Automation Systems (SAS) Control & Protection panels Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) across High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) applications.

Job Description

What Youll Do:

Collaborate on enhancing existing Substation Automation and Protection solutions and developing new commercially viable features.

Contribute to pilot projects and initiatives that shape the future of Grid Automation.

Contribute to engineering and field services for Substation Automation Systems including DCS and RTU.

Contribute to engineering and field services for Protection Control and Tele-Protection panels.

Support in the design of substation LAN networks and communication architectures and configure industrial Ethernet switches routers and satellite clocks/time synchronization systems.

Follow the departments standard design processes.

Required Qualifications:

Recently completed a Bachelors degree (5-year program) in Electrical Electronics Control or Communications Engineering or a closely related technical field from an accredited university.

Basic understanding of electrical power systems single-line diagrams (SLD) and basic protection/interlocking principles.

Basic understanding Substation Automation System (IEC 61850) for electrical power substations HV/EHV.

Strong skills in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).

Must commit to working full time (48 hrs/wk) during the internship.

Must be willing to work in office as well sites.

Ability and willingness to travel without limitations as required.

Fluency in English and Arabic (oral reading and writing).

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Familiarity with protective relays and core protection functions.

Familiarity with Substation Automation standards and protocols such as MODBUS IEC/104 T103 and SNMP.

Good grasp of IT/OT networking fundamentals (CCNA certification or coursework equivalent is a plus).

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Confidence in presenting technical information to varied audiences.

Fast learner with a strong interest in adopting new technologies and continuously enhancing technical capabilities.
