Wanted: Islamic Studies Curriculum Designer for Children

To join the team at Islam Leaders Academy

We are looking for a specialist who combines Sharia qualifications and expertise in designing educational curricula to join us in building progressive curricula for children and youth aged 4 to 15 years, in sequential levels that consider the characteristics of each age group and connect knowledge with faith, behavior, and application.

Curriculum Areas:

Tafsir • Hadith • Aqeedah (Creed) • Fiqh (Jurisprudence) • Tazkiyah (Purification/Spirituality) • Seerah (Prophetic Biography).

Core Responsibilities:

• Designing comprehensive educational paths and distributing topics across age groups and levels with clear progression and interconnection between stages.

• Defining learning objectives and outcomes for each level, unit, and lesson, in a way that suits the learners' abilities and needs.

• Preparing reliable and age-appropriate scientific material, while documenting sources and verifying the authenticity of information and Hadith.

• Converting Sharia material into interactive lessons that include stories, competitions, activities, and thought-provoking questions, especially for online teaching.

• Preparing a teacher's guide that explains the flow of the lesson, methods of explanation and interaction, in addition to worksheets and practical tasks.

• Designing review and assessment tools that measure understanding and application, and help determine the child's readiness to move to the next level.

• Reviewing and developing curricula in cooperation with the team based on teaching experience and learning outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• An accredited Sharia qualification and a solid knowledge of the mentioned Islamic sciences.

• Practical experience in curriculum design or developing educational programs for children, with previous samples provided.

• Understanding of developmental characteristics and individual differences, and the ability to simplify concepts without compromising their accuracy.

• Familiarity with instructional design principles, active learning strategies, and assessment methods.

• Creativity in utilizing stories and activities to serve learning goals and developing effective communication and participation.

• The ability to link Sharia knowledge to the child's life and instill faith-based meanings, values, and practical behaviors.

• Proficiency in the Arabic language, precision in phrasing, commitment to deadlines, and openness to scientific and pedagogical review.
