In 2027 that legacy will take on a distinctive new expression with the anticipated opening of The Ritz-Carlton Marrakechan exceptional resort and residential destination set amid the natural beauty culture and energy of Morocco.

The opportunity

As General Manager you will shape the hotel from its foundations: building the leadership team establishing the culture preparing the operation and bringing The Ritz-Carlton service philosophy to life in a way that is both globally recognisable and authentically connected to Marrakech.

Working in close partnership with ownership and Marriott Internationals regional leadership you will provide strategic direction across the hotel residences and wider resort experience. You will create a commercially successful operation while ensuring that every decision reflects the quality craftsmanship and highly personalised service expected of The Ritz-Carlton.

The role requires a leader who can move confidently between vision and executionsomeone equally comfortable inspiring future Ladies and Gentlemen engaging with ownership influencing commercial strategy and attending to the smallest detail of the guest experience.

The role

You will:

• Lead all aspects of the pre-opening journey from critical-path planning and recruitment to operational readiness and launch.
• Recruit develop and inspire a world-class Executive Committee and hotel team.
• Establish a culture grounded in The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards and the traditions of genuine Moroccan hospitality.
• Build a trusted transparent and commercially focused relationship with ownership.
• Position the resort successfully within Marrakechs competitive international luxury market.
• Develop strategies to attract high-value leisure residential and destination guests from key international feeder markets.
• Lead the development of distinctive dining wellness cultural and resort experiences that create a genuine sense of place.
• Ensure operational excellence across the hotel villas residences and shared resort environment.
• Establish robust financial commercial and operational disciplines before opening.
• Build meaningful relationships within Marrakech and the wider Moroccan tourism cultural and business communities.
• Champion talent development inclusion and the creation of long-term career opportunities for local talent.
• Deliver an opening that creates both immediate impact and a sustainable platform for long-term performance.

What you will bring

You will be an accomplished luxury hospitality leader with the presence judgement and energy required to open a landmark destination.

Your experience will ideally include:

• A successful track record as General Manager of a recognised luxury hotel or resort.
• Significant pre-opening repositioning or major transformation experience.
• Experience leading a complex resort operation incorporating villas residences or mixed-use elements.
• Strong owner-management capability supported by transparent communication and sound commercial judgement.
• Demonstrable success in luxury positioning revenue growth profitability and market activation.
• A sophisticated understanding of the international luxury traveller and the ability to develop multiple feeder markets.
• Strong expertise across rooms food and beverage wellness and destination-led guest experiences.
• The ability to build a senior leadership team and create an engaged high-performing culture from the ground up.
• Experience operating in Morocco North Africa the Middle East Southern Europe or another culturally rich resort market would be advantageous.
• Fluency in English; French and/or Arabic would be highly advantageous.
