Role Description The Agriculture Director at Maghraby Dates is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, overseeing all agricultural operations related to date cultivation and farm management. This role is responsible for planning and implementing agronomic strategies, including irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease management, and harvesting schedules to optimize yield and quality. The Agriculture Director will lead and supervise farm managers and field teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards. Daily activities include monitoring plantation performance, analyzing production data, coordinating with supply chain and quality teams, and preparing operational reports and budgets. The role also involves evaluating new technologies, engaging with external experts and regulatory bodies, and contributing to long-term strategic planning for farm expansion and productivity improvements.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in agricultural management, preferably in perennial crops or date cultivation, including irrigation, soil management, and crop protection.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising diverse field teams and fostering a safe, inclusive work environment.
• Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, including production analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting.
• Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, environmental regulations, and food safety standards relevant to commercial agriculture.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate between farm operations, supply chain, quality, and executive leadership.
• Experience working in on-site agricultural settings in Egypt or similar climates; familiarity with regional regulations and market requirements is beneficial.
• Ability to work full time on-site in Cairo and travel to farms and facilities as required.
