Role Description The Director of Information Technology is a full-time, on-site role based at Badr University in Cairo, responsible for leading the university’s overall IT vision, strategy, and operations. This role oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, data centers, and core academic and administrative systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include directing IT teams, managing budgets, ensuring secure and reliable systems, and aligning technology initiatives with institutional goals. The Director will establish and enforce policies for data privacy and cybersecurity, coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and monitor system performance and compliance. The role also involves collaborating with academic and administrative leadership, evaluating new technologies, managing vendor relationships, and driving digital transformation to support teaching, learning, research, and student services.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in IT Management and IT Operations, including leading cross-functional technology teams and managing complex environments.
• Strong foundation in Information Technology and IT Strategy, with the ability to design and execute long-term technology roadmaps aligned with institutional objectives.
• Proficiency in Network Security, including implementing security frameworks, monitoring threats, and ensuring data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing enterprise systems in large organizations, preferably in higher education or similar settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) are an advantage.
• Proven ability to plan and manage budgets, negotiate with vendors, and oversee technology procurement and contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across academic, administrative, and technical teams.
• Experience with cloud solutions, data management, and digital transformation initiatives is highly beneficial.
