Permanent Employment

The role will support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu and other Linux distributions, as well as Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and virtualization environments.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Administration & Operations

•Manage day-to-day operations, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise Linux environments.

•Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL); experience with Ubuntu and other Linux distributions.

•OS installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, hardening, and lifecycle management.

•Manage users, groups, permissions, sudo, SSH, services, processes, filesystems, LVM, networking, DNS and NTP.

•Troubleshoot OS, application, network, storage, and performance-related issues.

•Perform Linux performance tuning, capacity management, and root-cause analysis.

•Manage system backups, recovery, logging, monitoring, and operational compliance.

•Support production deployments, migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh activities.

OpenShift & Containerization

•Deploy, configure, administer, and operate Red Hat OpenShift clusters.

•Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes/OpenShift technologies.

•Support application deployment, scaling, upgrades, rolling deployments, and troubleshooting.

•Manage projects/namespaces, pods, deployments, services, routes, secrets, config maps, storage, and resource quotas.

• Troubleshoot cluster, node, networking, storage, and container-related issues.

• Support OpenShift cluster upgrades, worker/control-plane lifecycle, and capacity expansion.

• Implement containerization of traditional workloads and support migration from VMs to containers where applicable.

• Work with container registries, image management, security policies, and vulnerability remediation.

• Support persistent storage integration for OpenShift workloads.

• Virtualization & Infrastructure

• Experience operating Linux workloads on enterprise virtualization platforms.

• Knowledge of KVM/RHV, VMware, Nutanix, or other virtualization technologies is preferred.

• Support VM provisioning, migrations, sizing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Understand compute, memory, storage, networking, and virtualization dependencies.

• Support integration between Linux, virtualization, storage, and container platforms.

• Automation & DevOps

• Automate repetitive administration and deployment activities using Ansible/Ansible Automation Platform.

• Develop and maintain shell scripting using Bash and other scripting languages.

• Support Infrastructure-as-Code and automated configuration management.

• Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps teams to enable automated application deployments.

• Implement standardized builds, patching, configuration, and operational procedures.

• Storage, Network & Integration

• Strong understanding of Linux connectivity to SAN/NAS/object storage.

• Knowledge of Fibre Channel, multipathing, iSCSI, NFS and storage performance troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoot Linux networking, VLANs, bonding/teaming, routing, firewalling, DNS and connectivity.

• Coordinate with storage, network, security, virtualization, and application teams for end-to-end issue resolution.

• Security & Compliance

• Implement Linux hardening and security best practices.

• Manage security patches and vulnerability remediation.

• Experience with SELinux, firewalls, SSH security, certificates and access controls.

• Support enterprise security, compliance, audit, and vulnerability-management requirements.

Apply OpenShift security controls and container security best practices.

• Experience

• 7+ years of enterprise Linux administration experience.

• Strong production experience with RHEL and Linux infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes and containerized environments.

• Proven experience in enterprise deployments, migrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operations.

• Ability to act as an L2/L3 SME and provide technical leadership for complex incidents and projects.
