About this Role

We are seeking a Senior AI & Automation Engineer to join VOIS, contributing to cyber security innovation initiatives through the development of AI-driven solutions. This role is ideal for an individual with strong software engineering expertise who is passionate about applying AI to real-world cyber security challenges, including automation, threat detection, and decision support.

The role combines software engineering, cloud development, and AI security, providing the opportunity to build prototypes, create reusable engineering components, and support the evolution of AI capabilities within a large-scale enterprise environment. A strong focus on secure-by-design principles, Responsible AI, and scalable cloud-native architectures is essential.

What you ll do

Design and develop Python-based applications and services to support AI-driven cyber security use cases.

Build, expose, and integrate REST APIs into cyber security workflows and enterprise platforms.

Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.Implement, manage, and optimise containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

Contribute to innovation projects by prototyping, validating, and delivering AI-enabled cyber security solutions.

Apply Responsible AI principles, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with risk management requirements.

Develop reusable engineering assets, including reference implementations, patterns, and technical components.

Collaborate with cyber security specialists, architects, and innovation teams to transform concepts into practical solutions.

Produce technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing activities to encourage wider adoption and capability development.

Contribute to secure system design practices and AI security initiatives within the organisation.

Who you are

• 3-6 years of experience using Python to develop automation solutions and AI-enabled services.
• Strong experience building and integrating REST APIs within enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Practical experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles, scalable architectures, and system design.
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies or Large Language Model (LLM)-based applications.
• Awareness of Responsible AI practices, guardrails, and AI risk mitigation techniques.
• Foundational understanding of cyber security concepts and secure-by-design approaches.
• Comfortable working in innovation-focused environments with evolving priorities and experimental technologies.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience contributing to innovation, prototyping, or research-led initiatives.
• Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and secure-by-design principles.
