Role Description The Civil Engineer Local Purchasing Section Head is responsible for overseeing the procurement of civil and construction-related materials, services, and equipment for MCV’s facilities and projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in El Obour. Day-to-day tasks include managing local suppliers, evaluating quotations, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials that meet technical specifications and quality standards. The role involves close coordination with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to understand requirements, prepare purchase requests, and optimize costs without compromising safety or quality. The Section Head also monitors supplier performance, maintains accurate purchasing records, supports budget planning, and implements purchasing policies aligned with company guidelines and compliance requirements.
Qualifications

• Strong background in civil engineering, with experience in construction materials, infrastructure works, and facility projects.
• Proficiency in local purchasing and procurement processes, including supplier sourcing, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure purchased items meet engineering requirements.
• Solid analytical and cost-control skills, with experience in budgeting, cost comparison, and value engineering.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate between engineering, finance, and suppliers.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing systems and good command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; prior experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced, on-site setting.
